30 years of the Sandinist Revolution, Nicaragua
Edén Pastora (born 1937), also known as "Comandante Cero" seen at home surrounded by photographs and arms used during his years in combat, included the image which symbolised the beginning of the downfall of the Somoza regime when he and a group of rebels stormed the National Palace, the seat of power. In the years prior to the fall of the Somoza regime, Pastora was the leader of the Southern Front, the largest militia in southern Nicaragua, second only to the FSLN in the north.
